GOAL: TO RAISE 61400,000 FOR ONE Year to enhnace this project to support 50 vulnerable rural women PROJECT DECRIPTION Kasese Western Uganda has one of the highest rates of deforestation and forest degradation in the Rwenzori Region Uganda. Fuelwood harvesting is at the root of this reality: approximately 86% of Rwenzori region population use firewood and charcoal sources of cooking energy. Wood harvesting for construction and conversion of land for agriculture are also responsible. PROJECT BUDGET TOTAL BUDGET 61,400,000

To empower 30 women And girls in Manufacturing plates from Areca leaf and stones to enhance jobs and technology

Proposed project is to empower women in innovation in manufacturing plates from wastes to enhance gender equity and equality for women and girls. Uganda is to undergo industrial revolution that will help women create rural jobs and wealth. The proposed Areca Leaf Plates are made of naturally fallen leaves of Areca tress. These fallen leaves are further made into plates that are biodegradable, 100% natural, and environment friendly. The manufacturing process of the Areca Leaf Plates is totally organic and natural. In additional training we shall train 30 women in processing stones into plants and woods to enhance climate change mitigations and reduce use of plastic plates from chines companies which have side effects on human nature.At the time of more environmental awareness and wake of organic products, Areca Leaf Plates take the highest place. People around the world are shifting and moving towards these biodegradable plates. In the urge to save the environment, the Areca leaf plates are playing a very important role. These plates will available in well design shapes like round plates, square plates, rectangular plates, bowls, and many more to be used in local communities in Uganda using local organic materials. Act women foundation Uganda is request funding to enhance build manufacturing facilities to produce plates from leaves of Areca palm trees. It will benefit 30 women and girls from the stone quarry communities in Kasese Uganda and along river banks in Kasese rural areas. Those plates are biodegradable. The waste from the sheaves can be used for animal feed, biofuel bricks and compost that will be in conservation and control of wastes.It is proposed that women and girls will be trained in modification and processing of plates from stones and wood made items to increase environmentally friendly and conservation of heritage and environment in Kasese Uganda. It is true women in Uganda face unemployment and this project will improve job creation among vulnerable poor women to earn living. In Kasese women have no access to jobs and this project will provide and adredd the gaps of unemployment and gender equality. BUDGET: TOTAL BUDGET 56,000,000 MONEY REQUESED FROM DONORS 39,000,000

RECYCLING CAR WASTE INTO FOOT WEAR FOR RURAL UGANDANS

project Title:To ensure Improvement in recycling old car tires into foot wear for rural people in Uganda enhance skills development for street children The proposed vocational innovation transforms wasted tires into footwear, avoids the pollution from each burned tire which is equivalent to the usage of a regular car during a whole year, and provides employment to indigenous women and street children in Uganda. The funds are requested to facilitate the moblisation, trainng of 100 women and street children between 14 -30 years in Kasese to access vocational skills development for self reliance. The proposed project is vocational skills development and combat pollution and pollutants in Uganda.This will create jobs and local enterprenuers in urban slums. The proposed project will help in recycling of over 1000 old car waste tires and process them into foot wear for rural population to increase jobs and entrepreneurs to slum areas in Uganda that will reduce plastic and tire pollution in urban areas. Specific objectives are: i. The 100 women and street children will be trained in recycling old car tires into foot wear for rural people ii. iii. It will improve access to jobs creation and generate incomes to street children and women iv. It will solve problems of urban pollution and climate change control v.
